HEPA air cleaners operate using passive air filtration. That means the incoming air passes through a prefilter to remove large particles, then through a dense jungle of fibers, so tight that a high power blower must be used just to get the air to pass through. The result is a cleaning efficiency of 99.97% down to 0.3 microns.

We are all aware that heat rises. We can also observe that smoke rises. What you are observing is the natural air flow in a room. What we may not immediately notice is that smoke disperses as it rises with the heat. The Smokemaster smoke eaters take advantage of the natural flow of the air rather than the traditional race track approach. This Coanda pattern is more efficient and actually eliminates dead spots by covering a full 360 degrees around each machine.

Below you will see how the different technologies operate to purify your air. There are advantages and disadvantages to each type. Cleaning the air is like cleaning anything, once the contaminant is removed, it has to be disposed of. These machines will make your place of business or recreation more enjoyable, but proper smoke eater maintenance is absolutely necessary to produce the desired results.
Electronic air cleaners operate like an electro-magnet. The incoming air passes through a prefilter to remove large particles, then the remaining particles are charged by passing over the ionizing wires. The charged particles are then naturally attracted to their opposite charge on the collector plates, which are also electrically charged. The result is a cleaning efficiency of 99.97% down to 0.3 microns.
